When applied to literature,
point of view can describe the perspective of an author or critic
with regards to a piece of writing. This is particularly relevant to
literary criticism as it helps us understand why a certain critic
may respond one way to a literary piece while another may respond to
the contrary.
For this RWLO, students will read a historical
analysis of Macbeth
written by the renowned psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud in 1916 from his book Some Character-types Met With
In Psycho-analytical Work and respond to questions based on the
reading to understand the importance of knowing a reviewer’s
point of view.
