If you are unfamiliar with listservs, the best way to learn about them is to pick one that interests you and subscribe to it. You can always unsubscribe to it. Note that some listservs are very popular and have thousands of participants. Your email inbox can easily become flooded with hundreds of messages each week. Its best to subscribe to one listserv at a time and see how you like it before you subscribe to many all at once. Subscribing is free.
This listserv is sponsored by CIESE, The Center for Improved Engineering & Science Education at Stevens Institute of Technology. We develop K-12 Internet-based curriculum materials and provide Internet integration training for teachers. This listserv will not only update you on CIESE activities but will serve as a forum for K-12 teachers to share ideas for teaching with the Internet.

You should be aware of a "Netiquette" issue concerning replying to postings on listervs. From time to time you will see a message posted to the listserv to which you want to reply. If you simply use your "reply" function in your email system, you will be replying back to the ENTIRE listserv and not just back to the person who originally posted the first message. Thus your comments will be distributed to the entire membership of the listserv. This can result in a large amount of unwanted messages being posted to the listserv and may result in you posting comments which were not intended for the entire listserv. Try to avoid this mistake.
