The Difference Between Email and the World Wide Web

• Browsing the Web and using Email are two different activities you can do using the Internet.

• You can use separate software for composing, sending and receiving email (e.g. Eudora, MS Exchange). Access to the web is not needed to use this email.

• Email can also be web-based (e.g. Yahoo! Mail, HotMail). Email is composed, sent and received using a web browser such as Netscape.
