Important
Considerations
1) Each E-Journal has Unique Submission Guidelines
- Some E-Journals first require an
abstract be submitted via e-mail.
- Others require students to submit their reports via an online form
- Almost all E-Journals have
editors that review every submission.
|
2)
Internet Safety
- The teacher must carefully
review every submission since students are publishing to a global audience.
- Make sure to review your
school's Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) or other local or
state laws regarding publishing student work. All
submissions must be in accordance with these policies.
|
3)
Review Questions
-
What are the benefits of engaging students in the same
publishing process as professional scientists?
- What
implementation barriers might exist?
- What
might you need to do beforehand to prepare the students
for submitting an online lab or research report?
