Hi. We are the 6th grade class at Manson Elementary. Manson Elementary School is located on Lake Chelan in the middle of Washington State. The teachers here
are very nice. We have a two-story school. Our school received a Blue Ribbon award from President Clinton last year. Our school was remodeled a few years ago.
Our principal’s name is Mr. McKenna. In our classroom we have 8 computers. We have a cafeteria, which is also a basketball court, a library, lots of classrooms,
bathrooms, an office, and an attic shaped like an octopus. Our school goes from preschool to 6th grade. The 371 students are 65% Hispanic and 100% friendly.
Our school name is Manson Wildcats.

We got our water insects from Railroad Creek. Railroad Creek is where we went to Outdoor Education camp up Lake Chelan. Railroad Creek is by Holden
Village, which is 12 miles up a road from Lucerne, which is 40 miles by boat up Lake Chelan. The water for Railroad Creek comes from snow and glaciers. Some
of the water in Railroad Creek is polluted from water going through the old Holden Mine.

Manson Elementary is located on the top of a hill in the town of Manson, WA. The latitude is 47 degrees 53 minutes north and the longitude is 120 degrees 9
minutes west. We have lots of apple orchards around the town. Manson is a small town by Lake Chelan. There are 4 other small lakes by Manson. Manson has a
very small population of about 2,500. Manson has 2 grocery stores, 1 bakery, 2 gas stations, a public library, a casino, lots of restaurants and hotels, 13 total stores
and 2 pizza places. Most people in Manson work in apple orchards, tourist industry, or public service jobs. Before white people came here, Indians lived here. The
land in Manson was given to the Wapato Indian families about 100 years ago and then they were forced to sell most of it.

All our high school sports team names are the Manson Trojans. There is no college in Manson or Chelan. The nearest one is Wenatchee, or Spokane or Seattle. The
sports we play are volleyball, basketball, soccer, tennis, golf, softball, baseball, cross country, track, flag and regular football. We are in the B league. You can find
out more about us at our Manson Web Site.
