Lyndhurst Secondary College: Cranbourne, Victoria, Australia

Lyndhurst Secondary College is one of the top secondary College's in our area. It is situated South East of the city of Melbourne in a little town called Cranbourne. Cranbourne has many tourist attractions, including the Meteorite display and swimming pools. The Meteorite display is located in a peaceful park where families like to throw a ball with their dogs. The town has excellent shopping and sporting facilities. Some of the more popular sports and hobbies that are available in this area include The Shed (which is the only indoor skate park in Victoria), Australian Rules Football (which is played at a place called Camms Reserve), tennis and the big basketball stadium which holds five courts. Cranbourne is one of the fastest growing towns in Victoria. There is still a lot of land available and there are a lot of houses being built around the area.

Many of our students in this class live in the Cranbourne township. To get to school, the students walk, catch the bus, by car or by train (which is about a 5 minute walk from school). Our school starts at 8:45 am and finishes at 3:01 pm.

Most of our classes consist of both written work and then a practical experiment. We have 5 lessons of science per week, 3 single periods and 1 double period on a Tuesday.

We have learnt about water watch which talks about different rivers. We have also studied the environment which is around us. We discussed what is inside a pond like insects or dirty water then we investigated it. We have learnt about different flower types, as well as finding out what is on the inside and outside of a flower.

We trust that you now have a better understanding of our school and our class.
