Hi All Global Water Samplers:
At Grissom Junior High, we have grades 6, 7, and 8. Each grade is divided into two teams. Each team cosists of five different teachers for the basic subjects. We also have an enrichment staff for art, computers, applied technology, music, and foreign language. (Spanish for 6th grade, French for 7th grade, and German for 8th grade.) For our physical education we are divided into five sessions, and each session is 7-8 weeks long. We take 3 sessions of gym, 1 session of health, and one session of modern life skills. There are 8 periods in a day. Each period is 44 min. long with a 4 min. passing period. About 840 students attend Grissom, and about 50 staff members. Grissom starts at 8:35 A.M. and ends at 2:55 P.M.
Grissom has many extracurricular activities such as sports and clubs. Some sports are girls and boys basketball and vollyball, girls softball, cheerleading, and cross-country and track. Some clubs are science, chorus, band, chess, and sign language.
At the end of each quarter, we have a GGK (Great Grissom Kids) drawing for each grade. You receive GGKs for being good. If you win you get a prize such as Coca-cola T-shirts and gift certificates.
Grissom Jr. High is located in Tinley Park, IL. Tinley Park is a suburb of Chicago. The mayor of Tinley Park is Edward Zabrocki. Tinley Park is about a half hour to an hour southwest of Chicago. United Way helps citizens of Tinley Park.
Thanks!
From Grissom Junior High
