Garfield Avenue Math/Science Elementary School is in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We have students in 3-year old kindergarten up to 5th grade. Our school is located in the central city of Milwaukee, which has about 750,000 people. It is the largest city in Wisconsin! It is right on Lake Michigan.
There are about 440 children at Garfield. We are a small school. There are people from all different cultures and it is fun and interesting learning about everyone. We are a math and science specialty school, so we have lots of activities. The third graders in this project are from the Young Astronaut club. Our project is learning about exploring Mars and different worlds. We use the internet a lot to learn about Mars. We have computers and science labs and great afterschool programs for the whole family. Do you want to learn more about our school? We have a web site you can visit. Here it is: http://ftp.milwaukee.k12.wi.us/schools/garfield/
The whole class is excited to learn about water with you. We can hardly wait to see your results!
Good-bye for now,
Garfield's 3rd grade Young Astronauts and Ms. Matas (our teacher)
