Hello All Global Water Samplers!!
>From Fremont Intermediate in Oxnard, California.
We are from a town of about 100,000 on the coast of California, an hour north of Los Angeles and a hour south of Santa Barbara. If you what to find out more about our town go to the cities web site at: http://www.ci.oxnard.ca.us/
Our major industry is agriculuture, with an emphasis in strawberries. Since we live on the coast fishing is another strong industry.
Our shool is a 7th and 8th grade year-round school with a total of 1,400 students! Yes, it's pretty crowded at times!
We've already tested some water samples in the Ventura County Area. If you want to see some pictures of us and the sites we are tesing check out this web site we put together so far. Go to: http://www.oxnardsd.org/campus/frem/sci/waterproject.html
We think we'll have a some pretty interesting test results because we have a lot of agricultural land in our community, there was an oil spill two years ago at one of the sites, and another site flows past a land fill. We've already found very high concentrations of nitrates.
We really look foreward to working with you all!
Sincerely,
Students of Fremont Intermediate
