Greetings from Illinois!
We are the 8th grade class from Germantown Elementary School. We are a preK-8th grade school of about 250 students. Our class consists of 30 students. We have 16 girls and 14 boys in our class. Our mascot is the Bulldog and our school colors are red and white.
Every year we have a German festival called the Spassfest, which means fun fest. At the festival there is German music, food, and beverages. It lasts all weekend long and is always in mid August.
Germantown is a small, rural community. We are located about 45 miles east of St. Louis, Missouri. Germantown's population is approximately 1200 people. We are mainly a farming community.
Our school's varsity volleyball team has won State championships a total of eight times. We are the best in the area. Our school's basketball team has won State championships twice. We also have track and cheerleading. Overall our school is very athletic. But if your not interested in sports, you can be in scholar bowl, math team, vocal ensemble, band, and drama. Our school is currently practicing for our play, Hamlet. We are all working hard, and so far everything is going great.
In science class, we are studying the earth's fresh water supply. We will be sampling water from Germantown Lake. (It's really a pond.) We are all very excited about starting the project.
GOOD LUCK!
The 8th grade
