Hello everyone! We are the eighth grade social studies class from Rockwood Area High School. We are located in the Laurel Highlands of southcentral Pennsylvania. Our exact location is 39.91674 and -79.15713. We are a small school with 474 students in grades 7-12 . In our class we have three sections of students for a total of 76. For recreation most of us are actively involved in soccer and basketball. Due to our cold, lengthy winters, most of us ski and snowboard for enjoyment.

Our community is a rural one replete with fields, woods, hills, and many bodies of water. Farming is a major occupation. We have many hunters and fishermen. Our hunters flock to the woods for white-tail deer, bear, turkey, and other small game. Fishermen catch freshwater trout and bass. Catfish are also popular in many of our lakes. Some of our notable natural features include Mount Davis, the highest point in Pennsylvania at 3,213 feet, and the Casselman River which runs through our town and eventually flows into the Ohio River.

In our studies of world geography last year, we became very fascinated with the world around us. Our interest in the world and the different cultures in it has grown since then. We are excited to hear from students all over the world.

Sincerely,

Eighth Grade Social Studies Classes at Rockwood Area High School,

Pennsylvania
