Description: We are a group of 24 third grade gifted students in a primary school in Wilmington, DE, USA. Our school is in a suburban area just outside of the small city of Wilmington and houses about 600 students in grades K-3. We live in a temperate climate, so we enjoy the changing of the seasons. Our summers usually range from the mid seventies to low nineties Fahrenheit. Winters are moderately cold, hovering just above freezing usually.
Being located near the eastern coast of the United States, we are able to enjoy the Atlantic Ocean beaches in the summer. Thankfully, we are also only a short drive to the mountains for skiing in the winter. Our twenty mile drive to Philadelphia and sixty mile trek to Baltimore allow us to enjoy historical and cultural museums, concerts and major sporting events.
Our area is diverse in ethnicity and occupation. MBNA, the largest credit card company in the world, or so we are told, is headquartered here, as is Dupont and Astra Zeneca. A short distance away is the University of Delaware.
