We are homeschooling in Falls Church, Virginia. We are located at latitude N38 degrees 50' 26" and longitude W77 degrees, 09' 56". Our elevation is 360'. We enjoy fairly mild weather in this area. Our average annual snowfall is 17", but many years we have just a few inches of snow all winter. We usually have no more than a dozen days of 90 degree or warmer weather in the summer, but it is very humid. We have four seasons in Virginia. We are now in Fall. The leaves are turning color and dropping from the trees. Today was windy and chilly, only about 60 degrees. The leaves were falling rapidly today.

Our next door neighbor's hobby is weather. He has lots of weather equipment around his house and yard. He is a "Weather Watcher" for NBC news. If something unusual happens with the weather in our area, he calls the information in to the news station and they mention it during their weather report.

We live seven miles west of Washington, DC. We are in Fairfax County. Fairfax County is the largest county in Virginia, with almost one million people. There are people from all over the world living in this county. Last year, when I was in public school, there were students representing 67 different countries in my school. My father travels a lot for his business and we are homeschooling this year so that we will be able to go with him sometimes. I will be looking at the weather in your area carefully, in case we have a chance to visit!

Please ask us any questions that you would like. We will do our best to answer them. We are looking forward to meeting you all through this project!
