We are Mr. Larson's and Ms. Lara's third and fourth grade classes from DeMiguel Elementary School in Flagstaff, Arizona, USA. We are located at latitude 35 degrees, 11 minutes and 6 seconds N, longitude 111 degrees, 39 minutes and 12 seconds W. W.
We are the DeMiguel Lobos - which is wolves in Spanish. We have 600 student in our K-6 elementary school.
Flagstaff is in a high desert. We have a moderate climate. It gets cold in the winter time and hot in the summer. In the winter we receive snow, sometimes enough that school is canceled. In the summer our highest temperatures are in the mid to high 80's.
We are located near the world famous Lowell Observatory where Pluto was discovered. We are surrounded by a ponderosa pine forest. We are very near the Grand Canyon, one of the seven natural wonders of the world. Meteor Crater is about 55 miles east of us. Oak Creek Canyon and Sedona with its beautiful red rocks is about 30 miles south of Flagstaff. Phoenix, the capital of Arizona is 120 miles south of Flagstaff.
