We did the two charts and found that the people in the north are having much hotter temperatures than the people in the south. Also, we found that the north is having more hours of daylight. The schools in the north, closest to the equator are having the longest hours of daylight while the schools in the south furthest from the equator are having the shortest hours of daylight.
Before we did the experiment, our predictions were:
1) The areas that are the closest to the equator will have the highest temperatures.
2) The areas that are the furthest from the equator will have the lowest temperatures.
3) The areas that are the closest to the equator will have the longest hours of daylight.
4) The areas that are the furthest from the equator will have the shortest hours of daylight.
As you can see our predictions were incorrect. We were pretty surprised by our results. Now, after this experiment, we know there is a connection between location and temperature and hours of sunlight. Right now, the nothern hemisphere is tilted towards the sun so they are having hotter weather and longer days.
We had a lot of fun doing this experiment and learned a lot from it!
