After reading the requirements for this science experiment and viewing the website of participants, my partner and I
decided we wanted to do the project. We read some letters of introduction to get
acquainted with other participants around the world. It was fun and interesting to read
them because we liked comparing their school with ours.
First, we read the rules and documented the dates for recording the required data.
On May 14, 2001 through May 18, 2001 the temperature was recorded at 12:00 noon in the shade. Our data is shown at the bottom
of this poster. It was neat to find out how much sunlight we had each day. Of course it stands
to reason that proximity to the equator will determine the amount of sunlight and temperature.
Participating in this project gave us the opportunity to use geography, science, math,
and technology skills. It’s always educational to share in an internet activity with other schools.
