Dear Project Friends,
We are in grade 2 at Ridgewood Public School in Coboconk, Ontario Canada. Coboconk is an Indian name that means "Where The Gulls Nest" We are located at 79 W long. and 43 N lat.

Our school has 422 students with children in K-8. We have 23 children in our class.

Our town is situated in the heart of the Kawartha Lakes. Much of what we do is connected to the lakes and forests where we live. Coboconk has about 800 people but in the summer we attract many tourists and cottagers to our area.

Our province boasts the capital of Canada which is Ottawa. We are about a 4 hour drive from there so you can see that Ontario is a very big province.

In the winter we like to skate on the lake, go toboganning on the many great hills around and play hockey. Many hours are spent talking about the great hockey teams we have in Canada. In the summer we like swimming, biking and camping in the many parks and forests in the area. We also like visiting the Warsaw Caves which is part of the Canadian Shield.

Looking forward to reading information about all of you!

Smiles!

Friend:

I am in seventh grade and my name is Aurora. I'm Mexican. I am 13 years old.

Our school is really big.

I love the letter that you wrote. You can find out about our school in our introductory letter.

What have you been doing at your school? At LJH we have been learning about skin cancer. It is fun sometimes. Sometimes we like to do labs like dissection (frogs, worms, and may be a cat).

We barely have malls around Livingston.

Well, I hope to hear from you. Keep in touch with us. I got 2 go. Bye. C ya.

Always,
Aurora
