Greetings from Taipei Taiwan!

We are a group of 23 Grade 3 students attending Taipei American School. Our School is quite large. There are 5 other grade 3 classes and 750 students total in our school.

Even though we go to school in Taiwan, everyone in our school speaks English. Many of us live here because of our parent’s jobs. We come from all over the world. There are kids from 52 different countries in our school. In our class we have students from Taiwan, Korea, Australia, the USA, Holland, Mauritius, Sweden, and Hong Kong.

Taipei is a large city (population 2.7 million residents). The national language is Mandarin Chinese. Other dialects, particularly Taiwanese and Hakka, are spoken as well as some English.

The city sits at 25° 2' N 121° 31' E. Taipei has a sub-tropical climate and a distinct winter season, with average temperatures of 10 degrees Celsius (50 degrees Fahrenheit), which rise to 33 degrees Celsius (90 degrees Fahrenheit) in summer, which is when the rainfall is highest. There is also a typhoon season between June and October.

We look forward to sharing information with you and finding out what the weather is like where you live!

Greetings Grade 3 from Taipei American School,

I checked out your web site and particulary like the picture with everyone making "bunny ears" and alos the monthly calendar posted. That must be quite handy. I noticed that there was a day scheduled when all of the students were supposed to sleep over at the school. Was this a special occasion or was this a fun night? Did all of the students spend the night?
I also noticed that you had a link to the aboriginal web sites. Do you study the aboriginal people of Taiwan extensively. I wuld love to hear more about them . ..

Hellos from Livingston, Texas!

We are a group of 23, also, and seventh grade.

Our school is new. It is really big. There are seventh, eighth, and ninth graders that attend LJH. Livingston is little town, population 7,000. Most of town is pastures and cattle.

When the summer swings around it gets very hot! Sometimes up to 100 degrees F and higher. And sometimes during the winter it feels like our spring. So the weather mostly feels the same all year around.

Our main language is English, and maybe a little Spanish.

I enjoyed your letter and I hope my information tells you about us well enough to understand. You can find out more about us in our introductory letter.
