Augusta is located at 33.5 degrees north latitude and 82 degrees west longtitude. We will be participating in the science experiment about when the sun sets and rises. We are looking forward to getting E-Mail from all over the world and being able to cooperate with other schools. So far our sun rise time has been going up almost every day. Our sunset time has been moving down every evening.
Hi! I'm Julianna and I'm a sixth grade student from Westminster Day School. Our school has several hundred people in it, but despite that our campus is pretty small. Our city is very attractive to tourists this time of year because of the yellows, reds, oranges and browns that are taking over our trees. We're looking forward to talking back and forth on the internet about what's happening at our different schools. In Augusta it is in between fall and winter.
Hello, I'm Mary Ellen and I am in one of the sixth grade classes at Westminster Day School. There are 37 of us in all and two teachers, Mr. Merwin and Mrs. Finch. El Nino has been giving us some pretty bad weather this month. These past few days we have been seeing alot of frost on the ground, which is unusual for Augusta in November. It is so lovely!
Our school is surrounded by a beautiful campus. We have many different types of trees on our campus, including pine, bradford pear, dogwood, and maple. We have had a fun year so far and look forward to hearing from you soon!
Hi, I'm Christianne and I am a sixth grader at Westminster day School. Augusta is located on the Georgia-South Carolina border. Our coldest weather is usually in January-February, not in November! Each week, we choose two people to be meteorologists. They find out how much rain we've had, the time of our sunrise and sunset, the high temperture of yesterday, and the current temperture, along with other weather things. Then a weather report is given during the school announcments.
