Kehrs Mill Elementary School

Dear Other Scientists,

We are 4th graders in Mrs. Sirota's Class at Kehrs Mill Elementary School. We have 24 students in our class, and our class mascot is Snoopy.

Kehrs Mill has 650 students and 27 classes. We are in Chesterfield, Missouri, a far west suburb of St. Louis, by the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers. Our latitude is 38 degrees 65 min. N and our longitude is 90 degrees 54 min. W. Our school colors are red and gold, and our symbol is a knight. We are one of the 25 Gold Star Schools in our state. Gold medalist, Jackie Hoyner Kersee, came to speak at our school three weeks ago. Last year a Rams football player came for an assembly because we helped raise money for a charity. We have our own track and high jump team and a true size soccer field.

Every day we have P.E.(physical education). We play sport and help understand rules of games. We play sports like kickball, soccer, baseball, basketball, and even golf. Our school district, and school, has a science fair every February. You try to make up a cool projects to display in the halls and in the rotunda. The rotunda is the place where the halls go together. We have an assembly on almost everything that we are learning about. An assembly is where we have a program and a guest who comes to perform or educate us.

Our school theme this year is "A Literary Adventure". Our subjects hat we have every day of the week are: p.e., math, reading, read-aloud. SSR (sustained, silent reading), English, social studies, science, and spelling. We also do things only 1-2 days a week like: music, art, library, strings, and computer lab.

We're looking forward to hearing from you all.

Bye,

Sirota's Weather Watchers
