We are class 5B in Hedenvindsskolan in Stromsund, in the northern part of Sweden. We are 300 kids in the school in the grades 1-6. We are 10 girls and 13 boys in the class. Our teacher is Lisa Larsson.
Our intrests are: Icehockey, riding, fishing, computers, drawing, snowmachines and soccer. Stromsund is situated in a county called Jamtland.
Stromsund is a beautiful place by a long lake named Vattudalen. It means Water Valley. Vattudalen is very long, about 110 km. Stromsund lies in a sparsely populated area. There are many wild animals like moose and bear in the forests around Stromsund. The population in Stromsund county is around 16000.
About 100 km from us is the nearest city, Ostersund. Ostersund is located by a lake called Storsjon. (Means Big Lake) Many people have seen a monster in the lake. They call that monster Storsjodjuret. (Means Big Lake Beast) They say that he looks like a mix of a dinosaur and a fish. It's actully protected! (No Joke)
The weather is not so cold right now. -4 degrees Celcius. Today we have about 12 inches of snow. The normal temperature in December is between -10 and -20 degrees Celcius. We have much warmer climate than expected, becuase of the Golf Stream, west of Norway.
In the summer the temprature is between +10 and +25 degrees Celcius, and we are sometimes invaded by enormous mosquitos :-)
