Harris Home School
Tampa, Florida

We are the Harris Home school family, Sierra 10 and dad old! We live in the Tampa Bay area in Tampa, Florida. A place of Diverse people and full of pollution that's being taken care of. A city where there's mainly house pets. Not bears or animals that live in temperate rain forests just house pets. There's frogs and lizards but none were in our square. In Tampa Bay there is an aquarium with all sorts of sea life, In Florida alone there are 1.5 million Alligators which live in semi-aquatic areas, last but not least, there are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers which are the best of the best football players yet. If you want to check out more on these subjects then visit theses places, Tampa Bay Aquarium, Buccaneers, and the Everglades. We decided to compare our data with Aanestad homeschoolers in British Columbia, in Canada. Our square of life is very different compared to the Aanestad Homeschoolers.

Their squares of life were located in a damp Rain forest, ours was located in a dry area. Another difference is the Aanestad Homeschoolers did their projects on 4 squares and we, the Harris Home school clan only did one. Their squares of life had frogs, lizards, snakes, and snails, there for ours only had insects such as beetles, ants, and all kinds, of flying bugs. The Aanestad homeschoolers found a very large slug w/ black pots in one of their squares, we wouldn't be able to in ours. They named trees, none in our square. They found clay, rocks and grass, when we only found small rocks and green grass as well as dried up grass that soon turned a yellow brown.  They also found mushrooms with orange fungus, which we don't have any of those in our yard or square of life. we didn't find any of these nature effects like sow bugs and pill bugs which look like tiny armadillos, a wasp nest, a bunch of spiders, and lots and lots of berries- salal berries, black berries, huckleberries, and blue elderberries. They found something that was very unsuspecting, deer waste (which we most definitely did not find!)! They also found a kid who was working on the square of life project which was obviously just for a chuckle! :-)

Like I said before, our square of lives were totally diverse! In other words the Harris Home school clan and the Aanestad Homeschoolers had completely different squares!
