Hi! We are from Long Beach Island, NJ.  We compared and contrasted what we found with the Cleo Gordon Elementary School in Fairfield, CA.  We were very surprised to hear that they found a snake! Only two of us have seen a snake on our island. Laura has seen 2 and Lizzy has seen 3.

There were many things that we both found, like a spider (they were both in a web!), ants, grass, weeds, and we each had a tree in our square.  We both had dirt and paper, but we had sandy soil and they had muddy soil. We did not have any worms, snails, or roly polies (but we would love to see one!).  We both had birds! Ours were alive, flying in the sky! Our teacher would much rather see them in the sky, but we thought it was neat that they found a dead bird.
