Sample Letters of Introduction
Greetings from Safford, Arizona!
We are a second grade class with twenty-two students. They are ages
seven and eight. Our school is a K-2 school of about 700 students. We are
located in the high deserts of Arizona just north of Mt. Graham and about
150 miles due east of Phoenix. In fact we are nearly on the New Mexico
border. We are still enjoying the heat of summer. However, it does get
cold enough to convince the trees to drop their leaves about mid-winter.
The students will be quick to point out we did have one morning of snow
last winter. We enjoy a farming vista as many of the families here grow
cotton. Other families are involved in the copper mines or raise cattle.
Safford is a town of about 15,000 people. We are excited to begin learning
about the environments around the world and look forward to finding out
just how much we really have in common!
Hello,
We are a fifth grade of 24 students in a K-5 building in the hamlet
of West Babylon located in the Town of Babylon, Suffolk County, Long Island,
New York. We are situated near the Great South Bay which is shielded by
Fire Island, before the Atlantic Ocean. The area we live in is heavily
populated and suburban. We have lovely tree-lined streets and one family
homes. About one block from us is Beaver Lake, which is a small wooded
area with a nice sized lake area. West Babylon is a friendly community
with no central governing body of its own. The schools are the community
centers. There are 5 elementary schools, one middle school, and one high
school. Most trees in our area are pine, maple, oak, and locust. All four
seasons arrive and depart each year, and we have mild winters for the most
part. This year even the hurricane season has been mild with only tropical
storms south of us. We are all looking forward to participating in this
project.
