We saw black and red ants. We saw a spider web between 2 logs.We also saw a black spider that was about 5 cm. We saw a spider that had furry hairs on its legs. Some of us saw a roly-poly, also known as a pillbug. One group saw a centipede. Someone else saw a yellow insect that was about 1/2 cm. Some of us saw a housefly and a bee.

We saw some moss on logs that were in our square. We found some kind of mushroom or fungus, with black dots, growing on a log near the ground. We also saw clover growing in our square. We saw pine cones, pine needles, gumballs, acorns, and leaves in several of our squares. We saw brownish grass - it was dead. We also had some clumps of green grass in our square.

We saw a feather that had tan, black, and white stripes. We saw a tunnel in the ground. We saw wood chips, We saw dead leaves, tree bark, and sticks. We saw a ladybug wing. In one square, we saw some green glass (about 3 cm. big)that was broken. One group had a little area of wet mud.
