Do You Have It?

How to Participate

Students aged 12-18 anywhere in the world are welcome to participate in this project. This project could be modified for younger students. There is no fee to participate. The project will run from September 9 to December 5, 2003*. In order to participate in this project, please REGISTER (see below) ahead of time and submit ALL of the following:

  1. Letter of Introduction from your school
  2. All data collected by your students
  3. Final report, conclusions, or "lessons learned" by students
*IMPORTANT NOTE: See schedule for  specific due dates.
Please do not participate in the project unless you are committed to submitting all of the above information. During the project you'll be able to contribute to a discussion list with other schools participating in the project. You'll be able to discuss your class' theories and also discuss the results as they become available. Also, you have the option to submit photos of your class as they examine one another to determine which traits are present. These photos can then be posted on the project's web site.

You can view the "unchecked" database of results at any time. This database reflects the results exactly as participants have entered them. As soon as you submit your results, they will automatically be available in this database. The project leader will periodically check this database (approximately every few weeks) and contact schools whose data appear to be questionable. Only data that have been checked and approved by the project leader will be posted on the "checked" database. This is to ensure that when students analyze the data, they will not be misled. The "checked" database can be downloaded directly into a spreadsheet program. Return to Instructions
