Greetings from Homestead, Home of the Highlanders! We are 9th and 10th graders in Ms. Lex’s Biology class at Homestead High School in Mequon, Wisconsin. Mequon is a northern suburb of Milwaukee which is located on Lake Michigan (latitude 43.2173N, longitude 87.9347 W). Wisconsin is located in the midwest region of the United States, is one of the top dairy states of the nation, and is known for its cheese, milk, beer and bratwurst.
Our school contains over 1500 students and after our recent renovation is very large and interesting. Homestead is an academically centered school that also does well in sports -- in the past year we have taken state titles in several different sports. If you would like to know more about us or our school, you are welcome to visit our web site at: www.mtsd.k12.wi.us.
We are excited to participate in the worldwide search for the dominant trait. It will help us in our study of genetics. If only Mendel we alive to see this!
