We would like to introduce everyone to Marquardt Middle School. Our school is in Glendale Heights, Illinois, USA. Our coordinates are 41.92020 degrees north and 88.07884 degrees west. For easy reference, we are located about 30 miles west of Chicago, Illinois.
Our school is made up of sixth, seventh and eighth graders in two separate buildings. The 290 sixth graders are in one building and the 550 seventh and eighth graders are in the other building. We are the Marquardt Mustangs and our motto is "A Quest for the Best". Our school colors are royal blue and white. Our school has a student council, yearbook staff, newspaper staff, actors' workshop, different types of choirs and different levels of bands. We also have several sports teams for both boys and girls like basketball, volleyball, track and cross country. Our school has many different cultures represented. We have students from Vietnam, Bosnia, India, Mexico, Ukraine, Philippines, China, Korea, Pakistan and many other countries.
Two different eighth grade classes participated in this survey. Each class filled out the survey on themselves and also asked family members and friends. The eighth grade curriculum includes a unit on genetics which we are studying right now so we were particularly familiar with the traits used in this project. This is our first internet project and we are excited to be a part of the results. We look forward to hearing from the other participants.
