Hello,
This is Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School from Trenton New Jersey. Trenton is the capitol of New Jersey. We are a public school of about 500 students in grades 6-8. We are located off of Southard St. and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Our coordinates are 40 degrees North, 74 degrees W.
Our school is one of the first in Trenton to have Small Learning Communities and block scheduling. There are five different learning communities within our school. They are Madd Science, Wired, New Trenton, Rising Stars, and Intrepid Owls.
Madd Science is about science and experiments. Wired is about communications. New Trenton is about the local community - they go on walking trips and all that stuff. Rising Stars is about music and deals with the choir. The Intrepid Owls hold many fundraisers in our school. The students are given the option to belong to the community that studies what they like best. We have come a long way this year.
