Scarsdale Middle School houses grades 6 through 8 with a population of approximately 900 students. The middle school is divided into 3 houses-Butler, Cooper and Popham. Each house consists of approximately 300 students-sixth, seventh and eighth grade. We are part of the Butler 7 team.

We are located approximately 25 miles north of New York City. Our coordinates are 41 N and 74 W. Scarsdale is an upper middle class community that consists of 5 elementary schools, 1 middle school and 1 high school.

Each classroom has at least 1 computer although most have more than one. The teachers on our team have actually pooled computer resources so that the English classroom has 12 computers . This serves as a mini computer lab. Any teacher on the team can switch rooms with the English teacher to gain access to those computers. We are Mac based. The computers are hooked up to a server and all have inter net access.

We will be beginning our genetics unit in early November and will therefore sending our data around mid-November. We participated in this project last fall.
