Letter of Introduction
Hello from Lemoore, California!!
We are the GATE (gifted and talented) class of 4th, 5th and 6th graders from Meadow Lane Elementary School. Lemoore is a small town in the middle of California with about 15,000 people. Our latitude is 39.2932 and longitude is 119.8281. We are near a Indian Reservation which has a casino. We are near a large Navy Base which houses all the F-18’s on the west coast for the Navy. We are a farming community that farms corn, cotton and grapes and has many dairies.
Our school was built in 1963. It is 36 years old. We have 794 students. We are the largest elementary school in the district. We have track, football, basketball, volleyball, student council, peer helpers and the GATE program. We participate in Red Ribbon week which is part of the DARE program and we have a large carnival in the spring.
We are looking forward to participating in this project!!
Sincerely,
Meadow Lane Elementary School students
