Hello,
My name is Dayna Hackett, I am a junior at Taylorsville High School. I was asked to write this letter of introduction by my Human Biology teacher, Mr. Ernie Tripp.
Taylorsville High School is located in Salt Lake County at 40 degrees, 30 minutes north latitude and 112 degrees, 5 minutes west longitude.
Now for a little bit about our state of Utah. The approximate area of Utah is 84,916 square miles, with a population of about 1,217,842 people. There are at least 95 males to every 100 females in the state of Utah.
Taylorsville High School is about 18 years old. Our school colors are blue, gold, and white. Our mascot is the Taylorsville Warrior (a Spartan rather than a Native American). We have 2,200 students enrolled this year which keeps our halls packed with teenagers between classes - a big frustration for me. One interesting fact about us is that our football team made it into the State Championship Game for the first time in school history. We played the final game on Friday, November 19 against Skyline High School. Skyline beat us 49 to 18 which was their fifth consecutive State Championship. Our guys brought home the second-place trophy and a desire to try harder next year.
Our school has a great staff and an excellent student body.
Thank you for the opportunity to introduce our high school to you.
Sincerely,
