Dear Arizona Daily Star Editors,

Hello! My name is Tanya from Mr. Matchett’s class at Lulu Walker Elementary School. My class and I have been doing a collaborative Internet project called “Down the Drain.” A collaborative Internet project is a project on the Internet where you share your results with other classrooms and/or groups. “Down the Drain’’ was where we were trying to find out how much water an average student would use. We found out that the average 5th grade student used about 320 gallons of water. I wanted to share 4 ways to conserve water. 1. Fix leaky faucets. 2. Turn off the water when you are not using it. 3. Instead of pouring the water down the drain, give it to a plant. 4.Use low flow showers and toilets. Please try your best to conserve water. Thank you for your time.

                             A concerned student,

                             Tanya and class
