Take a close look at your bathtub drain when water is draining. Does the water drain in a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction? Check some other drains in your house like the kitchen sink, bathroom sink, and toilet. Can you tell which way the water drains? Is it the same for each of the drains? 

Compare your results with others in the class. Did everybody get the same results? Compare your results with other people from all over the world. Does draining water in the northern hemisphere swirl in the same direction as draining water in the southern hemisphere? Does water swirl at all at the equator? Use a map to see which hemisphere each country is in.
