Cumbernauld has a latitude of 55 degrees 57’ North and longitude of 3 degrees 59’ West. We will be checking for organisms from the “Luggie” which is the river that runs through our town.

Some parts of the river are not well looked after and so it will be interesting to find out the quality of the water. We expect that the organisms found here in Scotland may be quite different from those found in other parts of the world and it will be interesting to compare our results with those from other teams.
