Introduction
We are fourth
graders at Indian Mills Elementary School, Shamong New Jersey in Ms. Clementi’s
class. We decided to do the Bucket Buddies experiment. All of us had a great
learning experience.
Hypothesis
We predicted we would find; the Rams Horn snail; the Mayfly Nymph; the leech; the Cyclops; the Water Spider; and The Chironomid Larva. These macroinvertebrates were chosen separately by each of us.
Findings
We had a clear water sample that came from the top of a pond where the depth was about three feet and a murky water sample where the water was about 8 inches deep. Our water sample was taken on May, 2nd a clear and sunny day.

We found 4/6 of the macroinvertebrates that were chosen by our class. In conclusion our experience doing Bucket Buddies has taught us a lot and we have helped all of those scientists and their studies. We were surprised at how many macroinvertebrates we were able to see with just a hand lens.
