Catskill Area Homeschooling Network, Hudson, New York

We are a group of home schooled students from CAHN Hudson Cooperative in upstate N.Y.   Nine members from our group participated.  We collected the macroinvertebrates from Dewitt Pond in Ancramdale, N. Y. on 5/10/06.

It is spring in the northeastern United States.  The water temperature was 65 degrees F and the air temperature was 68 degrees F.  It was a cloudy day.

Using the scientific method, we posed the question - Will all the classes participating around the world find the same organisms in their pond water?  Each participant gave a hypothesis - 2 said yes, 1 said no, 6 said there would be a mix of some the same, some not.

These are our findings compiled from all participants.
