Tsawwassen,
British Columbia
My name is
Yasmin. I am 6, and I homeschool. I live in Canada in Tsawwassen, British
Columbia. We went to the pond on April 3. The pond was at Diefenbaker Park,
which is in Tsawwassen. It was very cold, and it also rained a little bit.
This is my
hypothesis: I think that every place where people do the experiment will have
different animals in the ponds.
We took 3
samples:
1. Where
the water meets the edge of the pond.
2. Where
the air meets the surface of the water.
3. My
mother scraped the bucket against the bottom of the pond and picked up dirt,
leaves and water.
Results:
1. Nothing
2. Nothing
3. 1 red
midge larva
Sample 1 and
2 also had a few unidentifiable creatures. They were little things that looked
like black dots that swam around but weren’t dirt. There was only 2 or 3 in
each sample. They were too small to see any detail on their bodies.
