Subject: First Posting
has arrived! Date: Friday, February 14, 2003 7:42 AM From: Ihor Charischak <icharisc@stevens-tech.edu> Hi, We have our first list of the Top Ten Reasons Why We're Not Scared of a Meteor Strike sent to us by the Supernovas (Donovan, Jeff, Robert and Taylor) of Ms. Carter's classroom, Pueblo Elementary, Scottsdale, Arizona. You will find it at http://www.k12science.org/asteroidwatch/student.html Check it out. How does your list compare? Anyone make a list of 10 reasons why we SHOULD be scared? (I think there are some nervous scientists who would have some things on such a list.) Send me your lists, comments, etc and I will share with the group. Speaking of group we have a small but hopefully active group of participants. See http://www.k12science.org/asteroidwatch/participants03.html for current list of registrants. Also if you can send me a "letter of introduction" from your group and I will post it on the website and share it with the others. It will be nice if we got a chance to get to know each other a bit. Today is Valentine's Day and it also is the anniversary of a famous rendezvous between a space craft and the asteroid Eros. Anyone want to share about this special event? Best wishes, Ihor PS Here's a cartoon you may like that has to do with the extinction of the dinosaurs. I'm buying a t-shirt. :-) |
